A1 General Pest Control

The first day of August which means spring next month. So over these last couple of months many of the troublesome insects and pests have been either sleeping, mating or both ready to make an appear when the warmer weather.
European Wasp is a nasty one as the are often mistake for bees but unlike bees who sting and die the European Was can sting many times, and tells others to do the same!
Last year we unearthed a nest underground the size of a soccer ball. But here is the thing do not disturb them or as stated that they will turn on you to protect the colony at all cost. Even through the protect clothing our team wear the wasp can penetrate our gear so never ever go to rid of these pests yourself.
NOW IS THE TIME TO…
– do a general pest control
– check garden beds to see what pests are lurking
– clean up and wipe down pantry cupboard and shelves
– get a termite inspection done – thermal image one is best
Just a few ideas for general maintenance leading into the warmer months that can save you from pests and also save you money.

SOCIAL MEDIA ADS - How are they doing?

I can remember starting out with my first social media ads with my eyes as big as saucers as I had just completed a course to tell me “how easy it was” to make money through Facebook ads. Full of anticipation I collected the images I thought would be fine and did my first campaign NOTHING a big fat zero as I could see my dollars being whittled away and no sales filling my bank account.
What was I doing wrong I followed the steps I was shown or was I? There were a couple of things that I was not doing and that is tracking and split testing, which today I now know are a must to do.
Once I learnt this I applied it to another campaign and I did not know that the ball game had changed again on Facebook and keeps changing regularly.
As a business there are many things happening within the algorithms on social media platforms.
This week alone there was a change to both Instagram (if you are not on this your business is missing out on leads) and Twitter.
Instagram has stopped 3rd party services being used on their site. This means tools that normally like, unlike, comment and follow have been banned as from 30 May.
Twitter is going through similar changes right now and FB is always changing!
As a business would you have known anything about these changes? Chances are probably not and this would either lead to you wasting money or having your account banned!
Local Businesses can target more clients through FB ads by targeting and re-targeting your clients. If you have ads disapproved for instance FB is cracking down on what your saying in your ads.
If your ads gets disapproved DELETE them do not try and fix them up this could lead to your account being shut down.
So you see social media you need to have experts that are across all the changes of what you can do and not do.

SEO - What Does It Mean To Your Business?

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is a real big part of your business and here is why if you don’t invest in proper SEO both technical and social media you are burning your money and not getting a good bang for your buck and missing out on FREE traffic that comes to you from ranking on the first pages of Google.
Now here is where it gets interesting Google has algorithms that they use and they change regularly to rate your site and how relevant the content it is to the title of the content and what sort of experience does the reader get when they come to your website.
Google wants the reader to be:
  • Educated
  • Entertained
  • Have FAQ’s
  • Good quality content
The spiders also report back how long that they readers were on your site, links that were clicked and even is sophisticated to record scrolling to see how people were engrossed in your content and also can also see through Google analytics all of the information that I will cover in another article.
Now that we know what Google wants and that is good quality content that is unique and delivers the information that the reader first typed into their browser.
What happens though if Google goes to the content and finds that there are a few duplicated versions of the same article for instance? Well it looks and tries to reward the person who first put the content up but this does not always happen imagine for a moment you looked on Google to see how your article is doing and see your competitor that has blatantly copied for your article that you paid to have written and worse still they are ranking higher than you!
Back to search engine optimization for your business:
You like me must get a ton of emails from people that flood your inbox with SEO offers, also perhaps that you too have also paid for services that say that they can get you ranked on Google page one in no time at all. If you see these type of offers delete them, here is why.
  • It will take 2-3 months to work behind the scenes until you will start seeing results
  • If you target very popular keywords it may take longer or you may not rank for these at all as companies with a bigger ad spend will always own the top spots.
  • We would look at other strategies that are the lower bearing fruit that we would concentrate on to get you seen and getting ranked for.
  • What should be done though is an audit outlining what errors are on your site both on page and off page.
SEO for Local Business is something that can be very successful for your business or restaurant and if done correctly that would bring customers through your door.

Best Practice: Pest Inspection Annually

Love when things start warming up I am a little like the pests that we treat I like to stay warm and inside but now getting warmer I am more active.
Contact Bob 0407 065 413  http://www.a1pestcontrolcanberra.com.au
Coming into September the pests like European wasps which unlike bees can build their nest underground and undetected for ages and in the warmer months we have had clients that have unearthed the wasps and because unlike bees where they sting once the wasp will sting multiple times and have the rest of the swarm attack too if they come under threat.
Best practice is to do a pest inspection annually where we can look for signs of nests in our routine inspections. The last thing we as a family owned business wants is for your child or animals to find these nests.

WHY A VIRTUAL ASSISTANTS DO NOT WORK OUT FOR EVERYONE

The following are the things that can wrong at the start or joining an outsource company. I am always honest with clients and say that there will be things that go pear shaped from time to time and the best way is by having open discussions that work on solutions moving forward. I know that this is the best approach so that you may find the following information also helpful.

Expectations are unreasonable
This happens when the first discussion takes place and if all questions are not asked at the beginning. At Need a VA we record calls so that both the client has a copy and the project manager can reply to ensure that we have not missed important points.
We use a project management tools for larger tasks and each of our sections have a project manager that works between you and the VA, this way the project manager can quality control all of the work that is sent to you for approval.
Communication is everything
  • This is a big one when it comes to talking and discussing things with your virtual assistant.
There are times that the client is not clear of what they want and is disappointed that the VA did not “get it.” The virtual assistant is the busy bee they do what they are instructed to do.
  • With communication try to stay with dot points or video using Jing is best.
There are times where the VA will try to contact you in order to progress your task and this is made more difficult if email are not returned.
  • Reports from the VA should be daily or weekly and that should be discussed on the initial meeting. This is so you can see how the tasks are going and make comments if its not how you wanted something
  • Pay on time every time The VA’s are just like us with bills, food utilities etc. ensure that you pay promptly and if they have done an outstanding job please tip them – even a few dollars goes such a long way in their country.I have captured a few reasons that could happen when using a new virtual assistant company but again that its not like that at need a VA as we have used the latest focus group results from UCLA to train our outsourcing staff. We also use project managers who oversee your tasks, check your work and report back to you. So there is always open communication

A 6 EASY STEPS ON PEST CONTROL

There is no denying that pest control plays an important part in the health, wellbeing and protection of your family against disease spreading cockroaches, rodents and annoying ants, flies, wasps, moths and other creepy crawly pests!

Your first impulse might be to rush to the nearest store and buy a can of some sort of pest spray that you see on supermarket shelves but so many of those store-bought insect repellents contain ingredients that are can be harmful to family and pets as seldom either do not follow the instructions and use spray than is required or reapply the spray which can even be more dangerous. There are better ways to keep the pests outside without endangering your health of your family or pests.
  1. Keep your eyes peeled
Your best defence is prevention and that means keeping dishes in the dishwasher or washed up not leaving them out on the sink overnight. Wipe down bottles after use and  look for tell tale signs that show you that they are around.
  1. Even your landscaping can be problematic
Try keeping shrubs and branches well groomed away from your walls, so pests don’t make the natural transition from their home to yours. Anything that connects your property to the great outdoors can be a trouble spot. Windows, vents, pipes, chimneys, and roof tiles are just some of the spots pests will sneak through to gain entry. If you find open spaces near vents or pipes, use caulk to fill small cracks or steel wool for larger gaps.
  1. Stay dry
Water is doubly dangerous for encouraging pests. Wet areas serve as both breeding ground and drinking fountain. Places in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry can be damp. If you find excessive moisture in these areas, consider fixing the problem immediately by calling a plumber or add further ventilation.
  1. Cleanliness is the key
Keeping your home clean is the best way to keep pests away, especially the kitchen where crumbs and other potential treats summon the hungry pest. And on days you don’t feel like tossing the trash, make sure your bins are covered or even sealed.
  1. Don’t make your house a bug buffet
How do you get rid of an unwanted human house guest? Make your home as inhospitable as possible when you put the snacks away, the party is over. Pests are no different they came to eat, so keep food in sealed containers or in the refrigerator. Fresh fruits might make a nice table centerpiece, but pests are attracted to your fruit.
  1. Know when your enemy has you beaten
You did all you could, but not every pest problem can be solved with a dash of chili powder. For instance, getting lots of itchy bites in bed? Bed bugs. Could be trouble.

Termites also call for the services of a professional licensed pest control expert as they can do extensive damage that is NOT covered by insurance. One of the many visual signs is If you find piles of discarded wings or piles of “frass” (a.k.a., termite droppings), these are sure signs you have a problem. The trouble with termites is that by the time you see termite evidence they have already done damage to fences, beams and window frames etc!
As the saying goes, “Prevention is always better than cure.”

HOW TO DEVELOP A LEAD MAGNET IDEA EFFECTIVELY?

As an internet marketer, or at least as someone who is familiar with the internet, you would come across the term “Lead Magnet” a lot. A lead magnet is essentially an incentive offered to a prospect in exchange for their contact information. An effective lead magnet idea is one that maximizes the number of targeted leads that you get for a particular offer.

Here are some of the Lead Magnet Ideas that you should know about…
#1: A free software tool or download
#2: Free coupons
#3: A quiz or a test
#4: A free webinar or a recorded video recording
#5: A case study
#6: A toolkit
#7: Free consultation or sales material
#8:  A free eBook or a report
#9: A PDF checklist
Each of these lead magnet ideas are proven to work and are guaranteed to get the attention of your audience. But it is not as simple as you think. You will need to work hard and take effective action to develop lead magnets that get you the expected results.
Follow the step-by-step guide given here to develop lead magnet ideas that work, time and time again.
Step #1: Choosing a lead magnet
We have listed some of the best lead magnets above. You can pick any one of these ideas, depending on the information you would like to share. For example, if you’re going to offer a free report, what is it going to be about? If you want to offer a quiz instead, have you properly considered the questions?
An effective lead magnet does the following for you…
#1: It is attractive and grabs attention.
#2: It offers quality information that the client would want to have and would benefit them in some way or another.
#3: It is relevant to your products, business or service.
#4: It is simple enough for a potential client to understand, but hard enough so that they would want to have more information from you.
#5: It tells your clients what they need, is educational and descriptive about a problem and offers a simple solution. It tells them why they might find your product or service useful.
 Step #2: Create great content
Now that you know which lead magnet would be the right one to offer, the next step is to create great content for it. Some lead magnets such as eBooks or reports need more content than others; each lead magnet idea would require quality material.
Here are a few tips on content creation for a lead magnet…
#1: Designing a landing page for the lead magnet – The landing page should have enough descriptive content that explains what the lead magnet is and what it has to offer. The landing page will also have a download button to access the lead magnet.
#2: Designing a form page – On the form page, the customer fills up a form before downloading the lead magnet. Most internet marketers ask for the subscriber’s phone number, name, e-mail address, business or profession and website URL. Only the name and the e-mail address need to be mandatory, the other entries can be made optional, this way, the subscriber doesn’t feel like they are being asked for too much information. As soon as they fill up the form, send them an email with the download link for the lead magnet.
#3: Designing a “thank you” page – The subscriber should be led to the thank you page after downloading the lead magnet. This is where you thank them for downloading the lead magnet and explain where they can find the download link. The “thank you” page allows you to track the number of times the lead magnet has been downloaded. This way you will know how many leads you’ve had.
Step #3: Setting up the lead magnet on your website
You’ve done the hard work – created the landing page, form and the “thank you” page. You probably have the material for the lead magnet read as well. Now, it’s all about setting it up on your website. Add a web page called “resources” with links displayed right on top of your website. This should be unique and distinctive from the rest of the website and make it easy for people to opt-in, should they want to. Clicking on this link should take them to the landing page for the lead magnet.
Next, place effective calls-to-action for the lead magnet at various places on the website. This could be in the sidebar of your blog, below the web page or in other easily accessible places. The call-to-action should include attractive, clickable visuals for best effect.
Step #4: Optimizing the Conversions
The next step is to see if the lead magnet actually works. Track the number of downloads and find out how many of them have developed into leads. If you’re getting a fair share of downloads and a high conversion rate with your lead magnet, then you’ve done well. If not, find out why.
Why a lead magnet fails to convert…
Reason #1:  Perhaps it supplies irrelevant information, which is not related to your business, product or service.
Reason #2: It is hard to understand.
Reason #3: It doesn’t offer enough information; lacks descriptive content or material.
Reason #4: It’s designed very unattractively; is an eye sore.
Reason #5: The email link or the download button is not working.
Reason #6: The email with the download link ends up in the SPAM folder of your subscriber.
Conclusion
We have discussed the importance of lead magnets, given you examples of effective lead magnet ideas and explained how to develop them. If your lead magnet fails to give you the expected results, do read the tips given here once again, try out different ideas till you get one that works.
